Kick off UpTilt's 9th Annual Film Festival with our Dinner & a Movie event- featuring Chef Driven Food Truck and our 'Happy' film block. Then, join us at the after party at The Blind Elephant around 9:30pm.
Saturday at UpTilt is full of films and fun!
Don't miss our famous Tie One On Party and Low Country Boil Dinner after the screenings.
Wrapping up UpTilt will be four fantastic film blocks and some heartfelt goodbyes

We believe women's stories have the power to shape our perspectives, challenge our beliefs, and inspire positive change.
UpTilt's mission is to provide more opportunities for
women to showcase their voices through film and provide
support in growing their filmmaking skills and connections.
UpTilt Film Fest a 501(c)(3) non-profit,
100% volunteer-based festival that
encourages and celebrates diversity.
We are the ONLY women film festival in North Carolina that showcases films
made by women and gender nonconforming filmmakers,
who identify with womanhood from all over the world.
*When UpTilt uses the term “woman” it means any individual who self-identifies as a woman*
UpTilt provides programs, scholarships and
services to filmmakers:
THEATRICAL RELEASES
Providing a platform for women
filmmakers to share their stories and perspectives through film.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Financial assistance and scholarships available in supporting women filmmakers.
INTERNSHIPS
UpTilt provides internship opportunities
for film studies students.
WORKSHOPS
UpTilt hosts educational workshops for visiting
filmmakers and encourages networking.
FINANCIAL & COMMUNITY SUPPORT
Producing and submitting to festivals can be financially demanding for filmmakers.
At UpTilt, we support North Carolina residents by offering fee waivers for submissions. We also refund submission fees for all accepted entries and provide each filmmaker with a stipend as a token of appreciation for showcasing their film at our film festival.
Our team operates solely on volunteers, championing inclusivity and a broad spectrum of perspectives. We are
unwavering in our mission to spotlight marginalized voices in cinema.
As North Carolina's only woman-centered and gender non-conforming film festival,
we redefine what's possible in storytelling and representation.
Our 3-day film festival in Wilmington, NC showcases short format films of all genres from all over the world! Films must be written and/or directed by women or gender-nonconforming individuals, who identify with womanhood OR 50% of the following positions must be women/gender-non-conforming: writer, director, cinematographer, editor.

UpTilt Poster Artist
Ray Gonzalez (they/them) is an emerging artist based in the San Francisco Bay Area, specializing in linoleum printmaking. Originally from South Florida, Ray has also lived in Wilmington and Winston-Salem, NC, before settling in Oakland, California. Their work is deeply rooted in their personal experiences and explores the themes of humanity and our relationship with the world around us. Through their art, Ray seeks to highlight the beauty of nature and inspire others to engage with the world—whether by spending time outdoors, embracing kindness, or fostering a sense of community.
